Sketchy McSketcherson

So we got on our sleeper train to Istanbul around 7pm and the man showed us our cabin and said one of us would sleep in the cabin next door...um...hell no.

So instead we had two beds and E&I snuggled on the lower one while J was up top. We ate our healthy meal of 7 Day (brand) spicy hummus pita chips and chocolate, plus water and were so pooped we got our beds out immediately.

Around 3AM they call around and wake you up for your passports when leaving Greece...that takes about 30 mins and if you try to go back to sleep, don't, because they will just wake you up again at 4 to enter Turkey.

Once we entered Turkey and if you are American you have to get a visa. So at 4am the three of us girls had to get off the train in the middle of NOWHERE and go to the office to buy a 15euro pass...thank god E had $ because J & I had not brought enough and thank god the visa was cool looking in our passport. It better be for 15 freakin euro!

Then back on the train and asleep until 7 when they wake you up to get the linens and stuff...which is dumb because we didn't get to Istanbul until 9. As you can see we got a BUNCH of sleep!

But we finally made it to Istanbul, sadly, my last leg of the trip!

D! You cannot come home! Your blog is so much fun and I don't want it to end. I don't think your entries from the new j.o.b. will be as entertaining and interesting. Have a safe trip home and don't forget your deck of cards. Can't wait to see you. Maybe we'll have a blog reading in EH. Love you.

Okay now I'm green with envy. Dubrovnik and Istanbul on the same trip. Those are 2 of my hot spots to see. If you make it to Mongolia before me, I'm going to turn turquoise instead of green. I've been enjoying your blog and hope it continues upon your return. You go girl.

Well, you've become quite the traveler, and very accustomed to "winging it" in less than optimal situations! Sounds like this has been a great experience for you.

Wonder if you're home yet? Thought you were leaving Europe on September 29th. No problem; I do have your itinerary, although perhaps you've change it.

Stay safe; looking forward to getting together with you upon your return!

Love,
Dad
